Help Rinjani Women stay safe and in education

Katni Wati is a trailblazer for women in Lombok and has single-handedly revolutionised the lives of women and girls in Senaru; she was controversially the first woman to work as a tour guide (a job seen as too hard for women: "They told me climbing the mountain was only for men, as women stayed at home, gave birth and looked after the family.") and used her profits to train other women in her community, as well as purchasing contraception and sanitary products for her village. 

Girls in Senaru used to only have the option of marrying (as young as 12) and becoming mothers when they were still children themselves. Due to money and education from Rinjani Women Adventures (Katni's company) almost all the children in the community were then able to attend school, and not be married until their 20s - this progression is now under threat as Covid-19 was forced RWA to close, and all the women have lost their jobs.

The community now has no income. Many women tried to become traders, but wares aren't selling during the pandemic. School payments are not being waived by the government, and children and young people are having to pull out.

Every penny donated will help feed families, send children back to school and support Katni and her community.
