These three sweet souls are Mama Joy and her pups, Pim & Pin, named after our wonderful supporters at The Shop Forward & Pimpin Joy. They have an all too familiar story that we see daily in the rescue world - Pitbulls being mistreated & thrown away like trash.

At the end of today, these innocent dogs were going to be euthanized. They were dumped outside of the shelter & with no space, inability to take care of their medical needs, and their breed - they weren't even going to get a second chance. We know that is heartbreaking to hear - but it's the truth. Thankfully we were made aware of their situation and our team jumped into action. Though we have taken over 80 dogs this month - this family needed Wags.

Mama is already at @animalhousevet, who didn't hesitate to help. She will be staying there for treatment as she is in immense pain and needs a full dental + tumor removal on top of her mange treatment. Her puppies also have severe mange & skin infections - they will start their treatment in the morning. We expect their medical bills to exceed 5,000.

Some days are really hard for our team & some days are great. Today was a little bit of both. We are grateful to be able to have these pups with us & give them the best life - but we also know this is a reality we will continue to face. We hope by sharing their stories and continuing to shed light on breed discrimination, we will be a small part of working towards a safer world for our pitties.
