My name is April, and I've spent my life working in childcare until this last October. I quit my job because I felt God's call for me to go overseas to help with mission work.
A year ago, I found out that I could barely see out of my left eye. It was like a thick layer of film over my eye. At the time, I went to see an optometrist. I was told I had a cataract on the back of the lens of my eye. I was also told that my right eye was developing a cataract, but it wasn't as bad yet. I asked for an approximate price for the surgery. The doctor told me it would be around 8000 dollars. My deductible for my insurance was over 9000, so it couldn't help me. I prayed and asked God what to do since I didn't have that kind of money. I didn't get an answer right away, but when God called me into helping overseas in Thailand, I found out I had enough money saved to afford the surgery. It was successful, and I can see clearly out of that eye.
The reason why I'm asking for help financially now is because the right eye is starting to get fuzzy around the outer edges of my vision. I'm living off the money I've saved up, which isn't much, while I'm still doing mission work. So, I don't have money to have surgery on my right eye. I’d like to get it done while I’m still in Thailand because it’s much cheaper here.
