Donate to Austin Pets Alive Medical Chip-ins!

Hello! We are Simply da Banana Brains, a fifth-grade Destination Imagination team from Eanes I.S.D. in Austin, Texas! In Destination Imagination (DI), students from around the world work together in teams to solve open-ended STEAM challenges designed to teach the creative process. This year, we chose the Service Learning Challenge which is designed to engage students in public service that addresses real-life community issues.

We chose to help homeless dogs and cats with medical needs at Austin Pets Alive. Austin Pets Alive is special because they take in homeless pets from other shelters that are the toughest to get adopted. If you have ever seen the APA website, you might have noticed many ways to give, but we have learned that medical chip-ins are one of the most important ways to help.

So far, our team has raised over $2,050 through a school event, a bake sale in our local park, and this gofundme site. These funds helped a puppy named Lipgloss with parvo treatment, a puppy named Davina with bloodwork, and finally, a cat named Theo with liver abnormalities. Next, our goal is to reach $1,500 on this site to fund additional medical treatments.
