Hey friends. As many of you know, I’ve been suffering from severe chronic pain for the past two years: 24/7 migraines, ear pain and mild hearing loss, tinnitus, neck pain, and significant jaw pain all on my left side. It has been really difficult to experience and has impacted so many areas of my life.

I’ve tried to get help and support from Western doctors and have seen Neurologists, ENTs, General Practitioners, Dentists, Upper Cervical Specialists , etc… and have had all the tests done: bloodwork, MRIs, CTscans, etc. None of the doctors can pinpoint the root cause of the pain and I have been told multiple times by Kaiser that “they don’t know what is causing the pain, they can't help me, and not to call again”. It has been extremely disheartening and frustrating to say the least. I’ve never had to navigate the medical system like this and it has been eye opening. In many ways I’ve had to become my own doctor, advocate, researcher, healer, and specialist.

At the end of last year I decided to stop looking at Western routes and look at a more holistic route to heal myself. That choice has been extremely freeing but also comes at a significant out of pocket cost. At this point I have been on pain medication every day for almost two years in order to function and work and my body is tired. I have used my savings to pay for outside resources to seek holistic care that my health insurance does not cover. I find myself at the crossroads now deciding whether or not I can continue the care because it is just getting too expensive to maintain.

Anyone who knows me knows that I’m extremely independent and rarely ask for help. I’m strengthening that muscle by sharing my story with you. If you’re in a position to help in any way, I’d be extremely grateful. And if not, thank you for sending some healing and good energy my way.
