I am dying soon with a diagnosis of Terminal Stage 4 Esophageal / Stomach Cancer, which has spread to my liver, lungs, and lymph nodes. The doctors have given me approximately 14 months to live with treatment, or 6 months without it. Learning that I have a deadly illness with no cure, and sadly, my time is limited has been devastating for my family, friends, and myself.
I am a proud veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy for 7 years, from 1988 to 1995. I am a devoted father and family man, a loyal friend, and a hardworking individual. Throughout my life, I have worked tirelessly to make a positive impact on people around me, always giving my best to support and uplift others.
Everything happened so quickly—it still feels like a dream. It all began with unexplained bloating and fatigue. I went through numerous doctor appointments and tests, but no one could give me an answer. Then came the endoscopy—one visit that turned my world upside down and changed everything from that moment onward.
- 8/22: Underwent an endoscopy at 4 PM; suspicious of cancer unexpectedly
- 8/31: Cancer was confirmed via biopsy.
- 9/4: Attended my first oncology appointment at 12 PM.
- 9/6: Had a CT scan at 7:30 AM, and later that day, at 4 PM, received the diagnosis of stage IV cancer.
- 9/11: Started my first chemotherapy and immunotherapy session at 2 PM.
Despite this heartbreaking prognosis, I am determined to cherish every moment with those I love and make the most of the time I have left. I want to live, and I want to be strong for my loved ones.
Unfortunately, due to the severity of my symptoms and the debilitating side effects of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, I am no longer able to work and currently receive no benefits. The PET scan, costing $12,000, was denied by the insurance company—an amount I simply cannot afford. The pain and discomfort are constant, and I require significant care and support from my family. My savings are not enough to cover the growing medical bills, and I fear that I may have to discontinue treatment due to financial constraints.
Any support you can offer, whether through donations or simply sharing my story, is deeply appreciated as I navigate this difficult journey. Your generosity will significantly help cover my medical bills for cancer treatment and assist with funeral planning. Thank you for your kindness and support.
