Christine Ann Russell, A journey of service and strength.
Christine Ann Russell, a dedicated navy Lieutenant served her country with honor and distinction during Operation Iraqi Freedom Campaign. Christine began her journey in Barstow, California and graduated from Barstow High School before venturing off to the US Naval A academy where she received her commission. Her commitment to duty and her unwavering spirit earned her the respect and admiration of her peers and superiors alike.
After her distinguish military service, Christine faced an unexpected and arduous battle with metastatic stage four breast cancer. Misdiagnosed for four years by the Veterans Health Administration, she endured immense challenges and complications from targeted endocrine hormone treatment the last five years. Despite these obstacles, her resilience and courage have been unwavering.
Christine’s journey is a testament to her strength and determination. Even as she fights this relentless disease, she continues to inspire those around her with her perseverance and hope.
Christine continues to seek conventional treatment as well as alternative systemic chemotherapy treatment offered by Dr. James Forsyth MD, a retired Army colonel and integrative oncologist. These treatments represent a beacon of hope in her ongoing battle but they come with significant financial costs. She can no longer function independently and also needs financial means to pay for 24 hours of daily caregiver support services each day as she has tumors in her spine, pelvis, femur, hips, ribs, and her entire sternum is infiltrated with tumor. She Also needs help with her rent in oceanside California as that is now over $2000.00 a month and she has been priced out of her rental based on her monthly disability income, medical insurance and treatment costs, cancer fighting produce, and costs of the oncology naturopathic practioner amd costs of the cancer fighting supplements. She is also having difficulty with just getting conventional treatment and obtaining a pill called Oserdu (Elacestrant) through insurance as it’s not covered and she doesn’t have the money to cover this pill. She is grateful for the prayers from foundation for homeless veterans as she is one step away from being homeless herself and cannot continue fighting cancer unless she has the 24 hour caregiver support, support for rent, support for transportation for life activities and church, and conventional and unconventional treatment. Your support in her time of need can make a profound difference, offering Christine a chance to continue her fight with dignity and strength.
