Donate to Dawn's Wheelchair Ramp Project
Donation protected
My name is Dawn, I have Multiple Sclerosis, and I am raising money to help with expenses to build a wheelchair ramp outside my house. I had a medical situation where I collapsed do to no feeling in my legs and ended up in ER where I was admitted. Later doctors found that my spinal canal was severely narrowed and I needed a surgery, laminectomy, so my nerves could relax and maybe get feeling back into legs and get them working again. I spent a month in the hospital and rehab unit where I have regained strength but still no feeling in them. I was sent home without a way to get into my house due to steps into the front door along with the back door. The hospital told me to call Lift Assist which is the non-emergency fire dept. The fire dept did help me by building a temporary ramp until I can get the new one built by the Handyman Project at R.S.V.P. volunteers. The new ramp will be built to ADA specifications and will have rails on it as well. If I can raise money to build my ramp plus extra then the extra money I will donate back to the RSVP project so that they can use the money to help others like me.
