My dear sister friend is in need of your support.

Deidre Searcy, is recovering from a stroke which occurred on Saturday, March 1st. Her progress so far has been slow, but steady. Her right side is strong and she has moments of sensation and slight movement on her left side.

Despite these challenges, Dee continues to be the thoughtful, witty, and strong person we know and love. She is alert and awake for longer times each day and is able to talk pretty clearly. We have discussed music, our young men, the quality of the food at the hospital (not good), and the ridiculous demands of people on HGTV shows.

She is surrounded by the love of her family and friends - which is a lot for her introverted soul. We sometimes get on her nerves with all the attention and instruction, but mostly are a comfort and source of strength and encouragement.

The hope is that she will leave the hospital soon and move to a rehabilitation hospital where she can continue to work on regaining as much mobility as possible.

This will be a long recovery and she needs financial support to cover the costs of supplies, equipment, and living expenses. Her recent employment has been part-time so she doesn't have income coming in at this time.
