Support Donovan's Journey to College Basketball

This is my son Donovan, a senior in high school. He has loved basketball forever and always dreamed of playing at the college level. Now at the age of 17 and in his senior year, he has a real chance.

For the past two years, Donovan has played for Grassroots Sizzle, a well-known AAU program based out of St. Paul, MN. Sizzle is known for getting college offers for high school student-athletes. The coaches have a lot of college connections, and Sizzle teams play in some of the most competitive tournaments in the Midwest. The season goes from April through July, and there will be a tournament almost every weekend.

I am so proud of Donovan for making the top 17U team this year! He will be competing in front of a lot of college coaches and scouts! However, all the costs associated with AAU will be more expensive than ever before. He has 7 out-of-state/town tournaments, including his final tournament in Vegas.

The costs for this season make me so nervous as a single mom. I do the best I can to give him everything he needs to be successful.  However, the costs this AAU season are overwhelming and nearly impossible for me to handle on my own.

The team fee alone is $1200. This does not include the costs that come with travel - gas, hotels, food, tournament entry fees, and plane tickets.
