Donate to Dylan's Medical and Recovery Fund

Whittier International Elementary School staff and community members are looking to raise funds to support the family of one of our students, Dylan (8 years old), who recently suffered a severe leg injury.

Dylan, who is in third grade, is a smart, kind, and fun-loving kid who enjoys playing soccer with his friends. On April 9th after school, Dylan was chasing after a soccer ball outside in the field when he unfortunately collided with someone riding a bicycle, breaking his leg severely below his knee.

Dylan is currently in the hospital waiting to be assessed for surgery, but he will have a long recovery before he is back to running and playing with his friends at school. His family will need support with medical bills from the ambulance ride to the hospital, specialized orthopedic care, purchasing a wheelchair, and anything else (physical therapy, etc.) that is required down the road for him to make a full recovery. Along with these challenges, his parents will need to take time off of work to stay home and care for him while he's recovering, which adds to the difficulty of the financial burden brought by this unfortunate incident.

Dylan will have a long road to recovery, but our Whittier community is coming together to do whatever we can to support him and his family through this time. We hope that you can help by making a contribution to aid the recovery of this wonderful kid.

El personal de la Escuela Primaria Internacional Whittier y miembros de la comunidad buscan recaudar fondos para apoyar a la familia de uno de nuestros estudiantes, Dylan (8 años), quien recientemente sufrió una grave lesión en la pierna.

Dylan, quien cursa tercer grado, es un niño inteligente, amable y divertido que disfruta jugando al fútbol con sus amigos. El 9 de abril, después de clases, Dylan perseguía un balón en el campo cuando, desafortunadamente, chocó con un ciclista, fracturándose la pierna gravemente por debajo de la rodilla.

Dylan se encuentra actualmente en el hospital esperando ser evaluado para una cirugía, pero tendrá una larga recuperación antes de volver a correr y jugar con sus amigos en la escuela. Su familia necesitará apoyo con los gastos médicos del traslado en ambulancia al hospital, atención ortopédica especializada, la compra de una silla de ruedas y cualquier otro tratamiento (fisioterapia, etc.) que requiera en el futuro para su completa recuperación. Además de estos desafíos, sus padres tendrán que tomarse un tiempo libre del trabajo para quedarse en casa y cuidarlo mientras se recupera, lo que agrava la carga financiera que este lamentable incidente ha supuesto.

Dylan tendrá un largo camino hacia la recuperación, pero nuestra comunidad de Whittier se une para hacer todo lo posible por apoyarlo a él y a su familia en este momento. Esperamos que pueda ayudar con una donación para la recuperación de este maravilloso niño.
