This is Richard, “Rich”, as most people know him. This man is your typical rough around the edges, I can fix it myself type of man, but with THE BIGGEST LOVING HEART! I have had 7 surgeries in our time together and he has never left my side or left me unattended. Now it is my turn.

This is Rich’s story.

In the middle of June Rich was feeling off for a few days and finally decided to go to the ER. The ER determined he had strep throat, gave him an antibiotic and sent him home. Within 12 hours Rich was disoriented and unable to control things such as his bodily fluids. Rich returned to the ER, but this time he stayed for 5 weeks. Rich was diagnosed with an aggressive leukemia, without treatment he would pass in 2 weeks. The doctor made a plan and Rich and God were all on board. After the treatments Rich had his bone morrow check, the chemo had killed 98% of the cancer cells!!! Although we were ready to celebrate we were advised that this cancer is too aggressive to leave the 2% alone. More treatments were given, but there was no change. After consults with CDC, the health department and with Rich it was decided he would go home on hospice. Now we are lucky if we get just a few more days with him.

Rich is the main financial contributor to this home. As we prepare to say our goodbye I am asking for help for the expenses to come and the bills that have accumulated.
