Many of you may know me from Dublin Roasters. A month ago, I went to the hospital for pneumonia, and it was discovered that I have stage IV lung cancer. This was totally unexpected and now explains the severe shortness of breath I've been experiencing. They were able to remove the cancerous fluid from my lung; however, it has returned more quickly than expected.
While waiting for the next available appointment, the labored breathing has left me unable to work. I will be undergoing a few more scans in two weeks, which will help guide future treatment options. The oncologist is optimistic that they will be able to treat me with an oral medication. The cost of the treatment is questionable and may cause added financial burden.
Now is a very difficult time trying to understand all the medical information, navigate the paperwork, and maintain the household. Every day it has become more overwhelming. This experience has left me in shock with the future being so unpredictable. Thank you for any support you are able to give.
