Donate to Emily Williams-Wolfe's Medical Needs

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Peyton, and I have created this GoFundMe in hopes of raising money for my mother, Emily Williams-Wolfe. She was hospitalized in March of 2024 but had been experiencing issues with her health long before this. It began with the failing health of her main organs, such as her liver and digestive system, from a toxic accumulation of fat. Since then, doctors and specialists have not come to a diagnosis or cause for this illness. Recently, we found that her adrenal gland is not properly producing cortisol and causing further damage to her health. As a result of this my mother is suffering with blind spots, extreme highs/lows of blood sugar, and an overall decrease in quality of life. Recently, while driving to a doctor’s appointment in Cleveland a deer jumped in front of her car on the turn pike and ended up totaling her car that she worked endlessly for. We are all extremely lucky she made it out with her life, but now she is left with no means of transportation.

While fighting this disease, we have had issues gaining any type of aid or disability since my mother was forced to stop working and has been deemed unable to work. This process is typically difficult and lengthy for younger people along with this it will most likely be months until she receives anything. She is the last person to deserve to have her life taken away from her. After being a single mother of three and losing our youngest brother, she has started life over too many times and created a safe and loving home for our family. Even with her illness, my mother started a small business and has worked extremely hard to find a way to support her family. There is no telling when she will be granted any assistance, and until then, we are left to our own defenses.

I am currently a sophomore in college studying both biology and psychology with hopes of going to medical school, and while my dreams are big, I will do whatever I have to do to ensure the lives of my mom and sisters. This GoFundMe is something I hope can be used to garner funds for medical necessities and daily living needs of my family, such as utilities, rent, and the needs for transportation to Cleveland Clinic for her appointments, testing, and whatever this illness throws at us. In a second, I would give up everything to find a full-time job and financially provide for my family, but my mom would never let me sacrifice my education, and I want to be able to at least help with anything I can, big or small, or take what I can off her plate and allow her to heal. Just as my sisters and I want our mom back, I know our family and friends want their daughter, sister, friend, and caregiver back. She worked in the healthcare system for over 20 years, supporting our community with undying attention and unwavering humor.

If my mother has ever made an impact on your life, whether it was making you laugh till you cried or caring for your loved one at St. Luke's, please consider giving any amount. Even a few dollars will go a long way. I know the support of our community will help my mom heal and focus on finding the cause of the disease instead of working tirelessly to find a way to keep a roof over our heads. While we learn more and tests are completed, I plan to update this with her status.
