Donate to Empower CJai's Fight for Health and Hope

Hi, my name is David Sterling and I’m raising money for a dear friend of mine who is going through some very challenging times. Her story is one that deeply touched my heart, and I vowed to help her in any way I could. I’m asking that you all find it in your heart to give to this GoFundMe so that she can focus on healing and not the stress of what she’s going through.

Her name is Celandria, but she goes by CJai. Currently, CJai had to relocate from Texas back to her hometown of Georgia due to financial hardship. She lost her car due to a hit-and-run drunk driver in the latter part of 2022. She has not been able to get another vehicle which has put a strain on her in several ways. In May of 2023, she was struck by an Uber driver and that put her down for a while, so no income was coming in for months, putting her more in an awful bind. Fast forward to 2024, she had a damaging back injury at work and is not able to return, resulting in the loss of healthcare benefits that she so desperately needs. CJai has undergone several medical procedures, and she needs all the help she can get. During a routine CT scan to find out why she was having abdominal pains, it was found out that she had an umbilical hernia caused by being hit by the car and doctors never told her. It was also found that a lymph node is in her left breast, so she requires more treatment and possibly surgery to remove it. Lastly, her ovaries have “orange” "-"-sized cysts, and they have somehow merged, and the doctors are calling them “kissing ovaries” which is symptomatic of endometrial cancer. CJai's stomach has become so enlarged due to the hernia (intestines pushing outside of the muscle wall) and cysts that people constantly ask her when is her due date. It's a hard pill for her to swallow because she lost her only son shortly after childbirth so it stings when people ask, but she doesn't get upset. The only cure for what she's going through is surgery, which means she will have to have a total of 2 or 3 procedures. With all the health concerns, CJai's doctors often keep her out of work so she isn't able to generate income for her bills. She really needs your help!

CJai is a fighter, and she will continue to fight to the end. Her faith in God keeps her going when it gets hard, and when she asks “What’s the point?” I want to get as many donations as possible to help her pay for the treatments she needs. I’ve worked alongside CJai for a couple of years and she is one of the most genuine people I’ve met. I sincerely hope you all find it in your heart to help my friend. As you can see, she has been going through it, but she continues to press forward because “I have to.” CJai is also one of the Chair members of the National Trauma Education and Policy Foundation. This foundation focuses on a holistic contribution to the development of laws and regulations, with a specific focus on mental health. CJai also devotes her time to the children and youth in underserved communities as a mentor with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. She focuses her time on prison policy and societal issues as a grassroots activist with The Texas Death Penalty Abolition Movement, Dream.Org, and The Texas Prisons Community Advocates, just to name a few. CJai is a full-time student at Grand Canyon University working on dual Master's degrees in Business Administration and Leadership. Even with everything going on in her life, CJai continues to focus on helping and healing other people, which is why I want to do this for her so she knows she's worthy of being cared for too. With your help, I believe that she can get the help she needs and come back stronger than before.

I’d like to thank you all in advance for your donations. I know CJai will be very grateful to know that so many people have given to help her. Your donations will go toward medical expenses, prescriptions, specialist visits, and tests she has to receive.
