Donate to Equip BNKS Gymnastics Hall with New Equipment

Hello! My name is Aabha Shrestha, and I am an 11th grader at Arlington High School in Massachusetts. I have done gymnastics since I was 7 years old, and I am currently the captain of my high school’s gymnastics team.

Over the summer of 2024, I was given the incredible opportunity to help teach gymnastics at Budhanilkantha School to the 5th graders. While I was there, I assisted in the compulsory 5th grade gymnastics classes. I also ran separate classes after school for those who were interested. Among those students, I taught a select group of them a floor routine. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there, and I genuinely believe that it was a mutually rewarding experience. It was amazing to see the joy that the students had for gymnastics.

Additionally, during my time there, I noticed that a lot of the equipment in the current Sports Hall is very old, and some of it is very worn out. In particular, the rolling mats had several tears in it and the trampoline had a few broken springs. Much of the equipment is also dusty. Because of the visible joy that I could see on the faces of the students, I was inspired to raise funds for new and improved equipment. While I was there, I was often approached by students who wanted to learn skills that required equipment beyond what was available. They wanted to try skills on balance beams and bars, and their passion for gymnastics was clear to me. With this in mind, I am reaching out to all of you to ask you to join me in helping raise funds for new equipment to accompany the new gymnastics hall that is currently being built. While gymnastics is mandatory for all fifth graders at BNKS, supporting the new gymnastics hall will further enrich the entire BNKS community. From what I observed from my highly valued time there, sports are an integral part of the BNKS community. Students at BNKS have the amazing opportunity to immerse themselves in a wide variety of sports. By investing in this fundraiser now, you will directly benefit generations of students at Budhanilkantha School. All of the funds raised from this fundraiser will go directly to further inspiring and cultivating each student’s love for sports and gymnastics, which they will hopefully carry with them for the rest of their lives. Through this fundraiser, I hope to raise enough money to replace the old equipment and include new equipment into the curriculum, like a bar, balance beam, and trampoline by the summer of 2025.
