Donate to fundraise for Project Africa 2024

Hi, my name is Max and I belong to Red Kites Explorers Scout group in Wokingham, Berkshire. In July 2024, Berkshire Scouts will be organising a trip to Malawi as part of Project Africa 2024, whose aim is “young people helping young people”.

During the 3 week visit, we shall be supporting a charity called Joshua Orphan and Community Care, which provides community-driven sustainable development projects to assist orphans, vulnerable children and their families in the rural and peri-urban areas of Blantyre in Malawi.

The vision of Joshua is to ensure that children can grow and develop free of hunger and with access to education and basic healthcare.

Myself and 50 other young people from Berkshire Scouts will be travelling to Malawi to build a community centre, long drop toilets and and other facilities, as well as decorating and painting (including educational murals).

Due to Covid, the charity has been unable to run any group based projects over the last 3 years, and they have also experienced recent devastation caused by Cyclone Freddy earlier in 2023.

Please help me to raise money for Project Africa 2024 so that I can work alongside the community to build and renovate Joshua's facilities.
