To my family and close friends: I never told you the real condition of our home. I

felt the need to keep my pride. Now it’s time to put it aside.

Hi, my husband (75) and I (63) could really use your help. For the past 10 years, I

have been putting 20’ X 30’ tarps on our roof due to so many weather related

circumstances. This February, Fulton NY saw it’s snowiest winter in 23 years. The

impact of lake effect snow is very unpredictable. I was terrified of the coming

thaw. I’m sure you’re asking yourself why we stayed. We owned the home/land

and we still owed on the mortgage @ 12 ¼ % interest. In 2016 I began to search

for every program I could find that could offer help; to no avail, there were none.

We had 2 possible maybes, but that was it. I had a dream of a new home in our

future. I realized at the end of 2024 that my dream was futile.

By the grace of God, my friend offered to buy our land so he could have access to the back of his

land. Thanks to him, we were able to pay off the mortgage and land/school taxes.

My new goal: find a new place to live and move out by June 1 st . During Valentine's

weekend the signs of collapse began. After living in hotels for a week and a half I

was able to find a mobile home to rent.

Due to damage over the years and the present, 90% of our furniture is in ruin. Any help you could give us to furnish our

new home would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you and God bless.
