UPDATE

We are now using this page to raise urgent funds for Mai's husband's parents, and his siblings and their families who are still in Gaza. Their parents are elderly and currently living in a basic tent with none of the essential resources they need to live. The whole family is suffering a lot and they need funds for basic survival expenses.

It is very hard for the family to send messages and photos, but below are some pictures they have managed to send; they show the difficulty of life in tents, the struggle to even find water, and the destruction of homes, hospitals, and all buildings.

All future donations will be sent to the family directly.

Hello,

My name is Mai Ismail el-Bayouk, a mother to four children. We are from Khan Yunis in the south of the Gaza Strip.

I left Gaza with my son 3 days before the war and we went to Egypt to join the College of Medicine. The war broke out and we were stuck in Egypt while my family remained in Gaza. For six months; my husband and my three children experienced all kinds of suffering, fleeing from place to place around six times. The last place they stayed in is a tent on the seashore, where they are lacking the most basic necessities for life, where they are hungry and bear the loss of their home and all the beautiful memories it contained, fearing every moment, exposed to bombing, and surviving miraculously, by God's grace. My brother managed to evacuate my children last week but my husband remained behind.

The neighbourhood in which we live was exposed to the heaviest destruction and was completely destroyed. We lost many friends and relatives, and every moment I was at risk of losing my family and children.

Now we have no home, no income, and nothing left.

I was able to bring my children to Egypt after 6 months of suffering, pain, and oppression of all kinds. They are in a bad psychological state, and my young child is sick and psychologically affected by the lack of his father. My children need support in all areas.

I need your support and help, so that my son can complete his education, which is still at the beginning. I need my husband to come to Egypt, to be saved from certain death in Gaza. His children need him. We need a new home and a place to settle.

نحن من سكان خانيونس جنوب قطاع غزة..

خرجت مع ابني من غزة قبل الحرب ب ٣ ايام وتوجهنا لجمهورية مصر ليلتحق بكلية الطب....واندلعت الحرب وعلقنا في مصر وبقيت عائلتي في غزة ...ستة شهور عانى زوجي واطفالي الثلاثة كل انواع المعاناة من نزوح لنزوح ما يقارب ٦ اماكن مختلفة الى المكان الأخير خيمة على شاطئ البحر وتفتقر لأدنى مقومات الحياةوجوع وفقدان البيت بكل ما يحتويه من ذكريات جميلة..والخوف كل لحظة والتعرض للقصف والنجاة ب أعجوبة وفضل من الله...

تعرض الحي الذي نعيش فيه لأثقل المعدات المدمرة حيث دمر بالكامل وفقدنا العديد من الاصدقاؤ والاقارب وكل لحظة كنت معرضة لفقدان عائلتي وأبنائي

الأن لا بيت ولا دخل ولا شيء بقى لدينا ..استطعت ان أجلب اطفالي الي مصر بعد ٦ شهور من المعااناة والالم والقمع بكل انواعه...وهم بحالة نفسية سيئة وطفلي الصغير مريض ونفسيا متأثر لعدم وجود والده معه وابنائي يحتاجون دعم من جميع النواحي

احتاج لدعم كل شخص معني بالمساعدة ليستطيع ابني اكمال مسيرته التعليمية التي ما زال في بدايتها واحتاج أن يأتي زوجي لمصر وننقذه من الموت المحقق في غزة ..اطفاله يحتاجونه...نحتاج لبيت جديد ولمكان نستقر به
