Donate to Help Transgender Refugees In Sudan Camp
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Shawn. For the past few months I’ve been in contact with someone who desperately needs your help.
“My name is Saidi Magala, and I am a refugee at UNHCR Gorom camp, South Sudan, where conditions are very bad, especially for us LGBTQ residents. We lack food, medication, shelters and even access to water.
Most of us came here from Kakuma camp in Turkana county, northern Kenya, as there was no help for us from the Government of Kenya.
I am appealing to all who will listen for help so that we can have the possibility of surviving in this unwelcoming country.
We struggle against a hostile natural environment and the homophobia of other residents and the laws of South Sudan,
but live in the hope of finding refuge in countries that do not criminalise gay people. Please help us with whatever funds you can send. Thank you for your attention.”
Their community and family are suffering and starving. Three of their members are suffering from HIV and they don’t have any money for ARVs, food, or water. Some of their community members have even been beaten to death by strangers for their sexuality and identity. Any amount of generosity you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Sharing this link would also be extremely helpful.
