Help a Student finish their Masters
Donation protected
Hi, I am a student currently enrolled at Radboud University for a Masters program. I had initially applied for a scholarship because the fees for non-Eu students are extremely expensive. I was told that my degree from South Africa was not up to Dutch standards for me to get into a Masters Program and thus was offered a place into a Pre-Masters program.
The scholarships that Radboud offers does not cover Pre-Master programs so I had to pay for it myself. The price was significantly lower than the Masters fee so it was affordable to pay, however what the university did not explain to me was that once I had paid for any course in the Netherlands I would no longer be qualified to apply for any scholarships. So now I am forced to pay 18.000 eur in order to complete the Masters.
To get my study visa I had to show that I had 11.520,00 eur for a year of living expenses. To get that money my family and I had to use all our savings and borrow money too. If I leave the country, in order to return I would have to have another 11.520,00 Eur plus the 18.000 tuition money just to complete my Masters -assuming the costs for both don't change.
With the new budget cuts that affect international students it is also likely that if I re-apply I will not be accepted again. Staying is my best option which is why I am asking for donations to help pay for my tuition while I try to find a job to cover rent and living expenses myself. Any amount of donation would mean the world to me.
