Donate to help Amanda Vargo get well

Our friend Amanda Vargo has not been feeling herself lately and for good reason. Over the past two months, she has spent several weeks in the hospital and going back and forth to doctor visits trying to get well and get some answers. The good news is with a little love and care Amanda will be back to normal; bad news is that she is facing multiple surgeries in the upcoming months to correct these issues. Her tests revealed that she has a small mass on her adrenal gland that will need to be removed. In addition, several fibroids and polyps were detected in her uterus along with ademyosis, and she will need to have a fibroid mass removed in her breast, a complete hysterectomy and a temporary bladder sling to correct these health issues.

Amanda is a pure joy to be around and a fixture in the vibrant Folly Beach Community. She is a light in the lives of everyone who knows her and as many of you may know shares her passion for our beautiful world around us through her photography. You can find her selling art at the Folly Art Village, Charleston City Market and many area festivals and events or strolling around Folly Beach with a camera in hand. In addition, she shares her generous spirit every year by donating her time and skills to take part in Folly’s Annual Surfers Healing event, Coastal Family Vacation Foundation projects, and other local charity events.

Amanda’s mom, Connie Vargo-Grady, and friend Mr. Bill Allen will be taking over market duties for Amanda and AV Photography to help as much as possible. Connie is well-versed in Amanda’s art and is even known to pick up a camera a time or two herself. Make sure you stop in to visit them and say hello to them at a market. I’m sure they would love to hear your favorite Amanda stories!

Now, Amanda faces the challenge of securing enough money to schedule her procedures and get the ball to recovery started. She is working with the financial hardship department at Roper St. Francis and has reached out to Access Health Tri-County Network. However, the road ahead will be filled physical and financial hardships as she navigates her way through this journey.

Your generosity, no matter the amount, will help Amanda on her road to recovery and get her back to normal and doing the work she enjoys most. Every contribution, prayer, or kind word matters more than you can imagine.
