Emergency Support for Amber

I am writing this today after much careful consideration. I have been promoting my work, applying for jobs, cleaning houses/apartments on the side and selling my own belongings, including the sale of my car the last few years to get back on my feet with the support of a few close friends (thank you, you know who you are)

But now something has come up that I have tried to fix on my own and I'm now in waiting until the end of this month (October 2024) which leaves me evicted and homeless.

I am currently living in an apartment with my two sons, our rent is $2035 a month, we moved in last October 2023. As a single mom I rely on my monthly government checks and found out the month I moved in, that I wouldn't be receiving those going forward - leaving me with child tax $1095, rent assist $933.50 and child support $586 monthly as income - which i supplemented with jobs and cutting hair.

All while applying for every job available to me. I have been unemployed and a stay at home mom since Covid-19 but had hoped and planned to have secure full time employment by the time Kane (my youngest entered full time school) he is now in 2nd grade. I"ll continue to apply, however after nearly two years, I'm growing more and more defeated.

I have since learned that my personal tax documents are not available to me until November 1st 2024 (which leaves me ineligible for any and all government funding) leaving me without rent assist $933.50 monthly. This all coming to light this week, which has lead to my eviction and creating this go fund me.

My plan is to move somewhere smaller and be able to get back on my feet, however all of the resources I'm entitled to are in wait until I have access to my proof of income statements.

I'm on emergency wait lists for housing, and have a child and family service worker helping in the meantime.

This money will help me pay my current landlord and move securely into a lower cost rental immediately.
