Donate to help an organ donor’s five children
Donation protected
On Monday, June 12th, Sarah McKenzie, superhero and single mom of five incredible kids, suffered a fatal hemorrhagic stroke at home in Spring Hill, Tennessee. Sarah was on life support at Vanderbilt University Medical Center until Thursday, June 15th.
June 15th, 2023 was the day Zachary, Elias, Penelope, Henry, and Charlie said good-bye to their mom, but it was also the day EIGHT strangers received life-saving surgeries and countless others’ quality of life improved because Sarah was an organ donor.
Becoming an organ donor is the most special gift we as humans have to offer. There is no reward; it is altruism in its highest form. It’s even more special, and extremely rare, when one person is able to help as many people as Sarah did.
After the Walk of Honor at the hospital is over and the thanks bestowed upon the family are finished, there will still be an unfathomable sorrow in the hearts of Sarah’s children.
I’ve organized this fundraiser because I don’t know how to help ease their sorrow, but I do think if we try, we can make their lives less stressful by giving what we can to cover the cost of their financial needs, and there will be too many to mention.
My daughter, Julianna, is Elias’s longtime girlfriend. Our family loves Elias beyond measure and we admire his unselfish love for his siblings. He will allocate any funds raised here in a fair manner, for the benefit of all five of Sarah’s children.
