Donate to help baby Ada

On the 17th of December 2022, a week before Christmas, my Friend Ella her partner Drew, and their family had their world flipped upside down when their beautiful baby was diagnosed with a dangerously large Arachnoid cyst within her brain. The cyst is growing rapidly now severely effecting little Ada, causing, brain damage, seizures, Cerebral Vision Impairment (preventing Ada from seeing anything other than light) and cognitive damage reducing Ada’s ability to move. She is in urgent need of surgery to remove/reduce the cyst along with significant ongoing support.
As you can imagine Ella and Drew have an enormous amount of stress and heartache to carry trying to navigate this devastating diagnosis for their beautiful little baby whilst trying to keep a happy and normal home life for Ada and their eldest daughter too. They are not only going to need all the emotional support they can get from friends and family but are also going to need financial help to assist with the many costs involved in keeping Ada healthy and giving her the best chance in life.
Currently there are the costs of getting to and from the appointments itself, with between 3 and 4 appointments a week, and with another daughter in primary school also needing care, juggling all of this, and working normal hours is virtually impossible leaving them without their usual income. Only one parent is allowed to stay on the ward within the hospital at one time meaning that currently, as they are living in a different city to where Ada is receiving treatment, there are additional costs of hotels to allow both Ella and Drew to be nearby. These costs are only going to increase with discussions of Ada being referred to London to a specialised neurology unit. London has more advanced equipment and capabilities to perform MRI scans while operating, providing a safer procedure for Ada.
Ella and Drew will also need somewhere stable for both the girls to live whilst reducing the amount of travel and disruption hospital visits will have. They currently live in a flat, and with the rising rent prices in the York area, moving into a more suitable property is proving very difficult. They will need to move into a more suitable environment for Ada that will ensure she can learn to navigate the world safely. She will need a house adapted for her to avoid accidents as, not only will she not be able to see, but will need to be able to navigate safely round the property to avoid further damage and a safe recovery to her brain.
Ada will also need a sensory space to ensure she can develop, grow and learn about her other senses to help compensate for her lost sight. Her parents are keen to provide her with a high contrasted spaced with bright LED lighting, and sensory equipment. With audio capabilities to provide Ada with independence going forward.
Currently our target is £5,000 to help with a deposit for a more suitable home and some money to help with the costs of getting to and from the hospital however Ada is going to need a lot more help going forward so any amount you can afford to contribute helps and will be greatly appreciated.
