Hello,

My name is Mary Jian and I work at North Side High School. For years, I have worked beside a wonderful Assistant Principal, Gloria Menchaca. Gloria actually graduated from North Side High School in 1990, and came back to her alma mater to serve the students in her community. She loves the pupils here at North Side, and has done so much to help them and the community from which she came.

Now she needs our help. Last July, she had a procedure done that resulted in complications. The complications led to re-hospitalization, a second surgery performed, and follow up rehabilitation for the loss of function in her legs. Gloria spent 3 months recuperating. She finally returned to work on Nov. 1. She recently discovered that she will not get any paychecks from November - January due to exhausing her sick days. Additionally, her benefits were cancelled due to non payment, as she did not earn a wage from which the premiums could be withdrawn. She has currently lost her medical insurance. She still requires intensive physical therapy to ensure healing, and these events have led to a financial crisis. She needs some help. The holidays are the worst, and going into them without a salary can be devastating. Many of us are just 2-3 paychecks away from finanacial catastrophe. If you can give to help her out, it will be a blessing.
