Hi, my name is Nicole and I've been following Brian's journey for quite some time. It started on the Kelpie Facebook page when Brian and his best mate Digger were homeless, living in a tent in the bush. Brian lost his best mate to old age and we then saw Bear enter Brian's life and enjoyed reading the daily antics the pair got up to. Brian now has his own Facebook page - 'Brian's Place'

Brian went into a rental property in the west of Victoria in roughly October 2020.
Here's a little of Brian's recap from his Facebook page - January 2021:
"A few days ago a friend asked me what l miss most and least about being in the bush, and what l appreciate most and least about my house. It made me think, regarding the bush? The thing l miss most is being able to let Bear run free most of the time, one could add to that a fire at night, they'd be followed by the smells after rain, the birds, the animals, and camp style cooking, l dont miss sand in my bed, l dont miss scorpions under my sleeping bag or wolfspiders but they never really worried me anyway, l dont miss having to get up off the floor every morning either, or using a sixty litre tub as my washing machine and my bath, but the thing l really dont miss one tiny bit? Emptying the dunny man l hated doing that, l would walk, half a kay each way, in the dark, in pouring rain, when the fog was so thick l couldnt see twenty metres in front of me to use the pit toilets rather than use that dunny because l knew anything that went into it would eventually have to come back out, and that meant going into the bush away from the lake and digging a huge hole then emptying the contents into the hole and backfilling it,l guarantee every time l would get at least a few drops of .. .. goo land on me.. .. l hated that chore.
Then there's my house,my lovely little house, with my lovely comfy king sized bed, absolute bliss, (its like sleeping on a cloud) carpet on the floor is like a little layer of heaven put on the floor cushioning my feet of a morning when l get out of bed, hot and cold running water that never runs out, ever, a stove that doesn't hiss and spit and fart flaming gas clouds into the tent on a regular basis, power that never goes flat, and doesn't require a generator roaring in the background for three hours a day (at least). A toilet that, no matter what l put in it, requires only the push of a button to make everything magically disappear.. .. but the one thing l love most? The shower, definitely the shower, turn a couple of taps n away ya go, water at just the right temp, it comes out of a little spouty thingo on the wall which means l can wash my hair in water l haven't had to sit down in, and its just like the dunny in that it all drains away like magic, no more dragging a tub with forty litres of water in it out of the tent to empty, and no more spending half an hour heating the water first either (which I've had to carry 100 metres up the bank from the lake first. If l had to say a thing l like least then l guess it would be mowing but its no biggie, l dont hate it thats for sure. My mate asked the question "what about paying rent"? Honestly it's no issue, my pension goes a lot further now than it did in the bush, lm eating better, living better, l shudder to think how l would have coped over the last few weeks when l was crook, it was hard enough here, would have been a bloody helluva trial in the bush thats for sure. I can honestly say without any doubt this is the best time of my life."

Brian has the opportunity to purchase the place he now calls home as the property is being sold towards the end of this year. He has worked hard in an attempt to get a deposit together by going into scrapping various metals to make this dream a reality.
Brian's dream of owning the home is slipping away and this is where I need your help!

Collectively, we can make a difference to assist Brian and his doggos Bear, Jetty and Boomer in keeping a roof over their head and somewhere safe to call home.

Please share this Go Fund Me page far and wide!!! Any contribution will be greatly appreciated.
