Help Cancer Patients in Jaffna, Sri Lanka

Dear Friends and Family,

I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a glimmer of hope, inspired by the generosity I know we can share together.

As many of you know, I’m currently undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer here in Canada. I am incredibly thankful for the free healthcare and the dedicated care I’ve received. This journey has made me deeply appreciate the importance of access to timely treatment—something that is, unfortunately, out of reach for many in other parts of the world.

I recently learned about a heartbreaking situation in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, where I grew up. A 19-year-old boy diagnosed with a treatable form of bone cancer had to halt his treatment due to financial constraints. His case is not unique—many patients with treatable cancers in Jaffna face the same devastating reality.

I connected with an oncologist in Jaffna, who confirmed that economic hardship is a widespread barrier to care for families battling cancer in the region. There are patients who could survive and thrive if they could afford their treatments.

Moved by this, I decided to help. I’ve already sent financial support to the young man so that he can resume his treatment. But this is just a small step. There are so many more who need our help.

That’s why I’m reaching out to you today. I want to raise funds to support these deserving families. All donations will go directly to the oncologist at the Jaffna Cancer Hospital, who will ensure that the funds are distributed responsibly to patients in urgent need.

No amount is too small, and every contribution can save a life. Together, we can give these families hope, relief, and a fighting chance.
