Train 10000 girls in engineering design skills

Hi, MJF is a woman-led community-based organization in Tanzania dedicated to empowering marginalized women, boys, and girls through health, agriculture, and livelihood training. We were formed by a group of friends who were fortunate enough to turn our lives around thanks to the sacrifices of our parents and the privilege of education. We strongly believe that education is a crucial pillar for a better future, particularly for the youth. Currently, our revenue comes from member subscriptions, amounting to less than $10,000 annually.

The challenge 

In our communities, many children drop out of school due to poverty, early pregnancies, and child labor to support their families. The plight of these children is heartbreaking. Even those who are still in school are at risk of dropping out. Take Little Amina, for example. At just ten years old, she longs to learn. Each morning, she watches her brother head off to work in the fields, his dreams of becoming a teacher lost under the weight of survival. Her mother reminisces about a time when education was attainable for every child, but now, with resources scarce, the privilege of learning has slipped away from many—especially girls. Amina dreams of attending school, reading books, solving math problems, and one day becoming a doctor to heal the sick in her village. Yet, without help, her dreams feel as distant as the stars.

This is the reality for thousands of vulnerable children like Amina. They yearn for education and a brighter future, but without support, their paths are fraught with obstacles. They need our help to rebuild schools, provide teachers, and offer essential tools—pencils, books, and the simple joy of learning.

Our solution

However, there is hope for a second chance through building skills in income-generating activities and entrepreneurship, which can significantly improve their life outcomes.

At MJF, our dream is to create a bridge to these second-chance opportunities. We aim to establish a community education hub and in-school programs to offer digital skills training. Our hub will operate on a strong business model, providing free training in basic computer packages, Microsoft Office for beginners, product design, graphic design, and coding for advanced students. To ensure a comprehensive educational experience, we will also empower these students with entrepreneurial skills, teaching them how to start and manage a business, as well as essential record-keeping.

To support the sustainability of our community school, we will offer printing, photocopying, and basic stationery at very affordable prices.

Our programs aim to bring hope to over 1,000 youths annually. We will provide comprehensive training designed to equip students with life skills proven to empower them for success.
