Cindy moved to Alaska a year ago as part of a lifelong dream of living amidst nature and her love of fishing. The first year has been an adjustment but ultimately worth it. How many of us can sip our morning tea or coffee while watching moose from the porch?

Unfortunately, in May of this year, Cindy was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. While most of her care is covered by insurance, it is a 50 mile round trip every time she has chemotherapy and radiation therapy. The average cost for transportation adds up to $400 dollars per week, uncovered by insurance. Money raised by GoFundMe will be used for transportation costs, food and utilities, as well as any care not covered by insurance. Her treatment is expected to be at least 10 months. The first treatment caused a Grand Mal seizure. A Code Blue was initiated, and an emergency MRI was done. Fortunately, she pulled through, but it is unclear if her insurance will cover the cost.
