In late 2020, McKenna went to the doctor experiencing dizziness. After an abnormal EKG came back and further testing was conducted, it was discovered McKenna was born with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy with Obstruction ( HOCM for short ).
Many (30%) that have this disorder, do not recognize they HOCM due to subtle symptoms ( such as lightheadedness, rapid heartbeat episodes of near/complete passing out, chronic fatigue, shortness of breath, chest pain, especially with exercising, and increased heart rate) until it’s too late.
Due to the progression of symptoms listed above, McKenna has bravely chosen to undergo open heart surgery to not only improve the quality of, but also extend her life.
Unfortunately, McKenna will be unable to work for the 6+ weeks she needs to recover from the surgery. McKenna has a multitude of bills to pay for during this time ( on top of a hefty hospital bill afterward ) and she should not have to stress about this while recovering from such an extensive surgery. Please consider donating to this cause and helping McKenna rest comfortably as she deserves during this time.
