On September 30, 2023, my brother Danny suffered a major stroke that left him incapacitated. Our hope is for a full recovery, but we anticipate a long road ahead. As you can imagine, the repercussions of something like this are huge. Dan is only 43 and the father of two teenage sons. He had a boat repair business in Pembroke.

Our family is working hard to ensure he receives the care he needs while also doing our best to move his apartment into storage and close his garage before November 1st. We have started this GoFundMe Campaign to raise money to cover these expenses and to provide support for his two sons, Daniel and Aiden.

Dan was a very hands-on father. His son, Daniel worked with him over the summer in his shop. When this happened, they were in the middle of putting a lift kit on Daniel's Jeep. Fortunately, Daniel has some good friends, cousins, and one of his father's friends who have offered to help him finish the job. Daniel attends Worcester Polytechnical Institute as a Sophomore.

Aiden is 16, attends the Vocational High School in Hanover, and he loves to cook. Aiden and his father loved to cook together. He and his boys loved to go fishing, and my brother made the best seafood chowder around.

Dan recently got engaged to his girlfriend, Shannon, and they were about to move to a new home together.

Dan has a brother, Erik, and three sisters including me, Emily Leonard, and Molly Farrar. Dan is the youngest. Our mother passed away two years ago. Our father lives in Norwell and is holding up well.

It is devastating to see someone you love unable to speak or move. We were told by the first doctor that it was likely Dan will need 24 hour care, lose the ability to move his right side, or understand language. He's been opening his eyes and squeezing our hands with his left hand, which tells us he's in there and has some level of awareness. This gives us hope.

You never know when something like this will happen, especially with someone so young. He did not have disability insurance. We appreciate whatever amount you can contribute.
