My heart aches as I pen down these words, sharing our plight from within the confines of a makeshift tent on the shores of Deir elbalah. My beloved son and wife, and I, Dr. Awni , find ourselves amidst the harsh reality of displacement, enduring sickness, cold, and the relentless sounds of war. Forced to relocate twelve times, our journey has led us to this humble tent, where the struggle for clean water and sustenance is a daily battle. Cut off from electricity and the world beyond, our spirits wane with each passing day.

Before October 7, our lives were full of hopes and ambitions...my beautiful home, which was full of love and joy...which I built after years of work. Our life was safe, quiet, and we lived in dignity... I had my own clinic, which I always went through difficulties until I established it and it became my source of income. My only son, Karim, I have always worked to secure his future and make him live a happy and clean life. In the blink of an eye, after that seventh day of October, everything turned into a mirage. My house has become rubble, my clinic has become rubble, my car has been destroyed, everything is gone, and all that remains is what I, my wife, and my son wear.

Now, as we seek refuge from the incessant violence, our only wish is to escape to safety in Egypt, where we can rebuild our shattered lives. The road ahead is fraught with uncertainty, compounded by the exorbitant costs of travel and the daunting task of starting anew., we implore for assistance in our time of need.

Today marks the 200th day of our harrowing journey, and with each passing moment, the burden grows heavier. Fear and uncertainty cloud our days, as we grapple with the harsh realities of war. Sleep eludes us, and hunger gnaws at our insides, as we cling to hope amidst the darkness that surrounds us.
