Hello. We are writing on behalf of our niece Haley Haskins and her family. At 3 AM on Saturday, October 29th Haley woke up to a loud noise and discovered that her apartment complex was up in flames. Haley’s only way out…to save her life was a jump from her second-story window. Haley suffered bad burns to her face, arms and body as well as smoke inhalation. She also suffered a bad break to her wrist from her life-saving jump. Haley continues to be in a hospital burn unit and will have major surgery on her broken wrist this week. She will hopefully be released sometime during the week of 11/7.
Haley has not only gone through a very tragic and traumatic event, but Haley lost everything in this fire. She lost her beloved cats, which were her babies and comfort animals. She lost all of her possessions. We are so incredibly thankful she was able to make it out alive. Now Haley needs our help.
Haley is not only kind, funny, sweet, smart and caring, she is also a survivor. Haley is brave and Haley is strong. Haley needs all the help we can give her to get her back to her independence and everything she has worked so hard for. She had her own place and was working hard at a full-time job to support herself. She now will be facing a long road ahead. A road to healing and recovery will include more time away from work, finding a new place to live when she’s well enough, trauma therapy, hospital bills, and life essentials like clothing, food, furniture and kitchen items. Please, if you can, help us to get Haley back on her feet and to ease the stress of worrying about everything. She needs time and needs to heal.
On behalf of our beloved niece Haley and all the family, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
