In 2000, My friend Heather was diagnosed with Chiari malformation after a fall. At the time, she didn't experience any complications until a car accident in 2014. The following year, she started to have seizures and her left side went numb. She had to undergo brain and spine surgery - a posterior fossa decompression and a lumbar ectomy of C1. She recovered completely by 2017.

However, in 2019, Heather slipped while walking on a hill and herr symptoms returned. In addition, she developed a condition called POTS, which causes an increase in heart rate but a decrease in blood pressure. Although she was told she could manage it by maintaining a high-sodium diet and making other lifestyle changes, symptoms worsened over time!

Recently, everything came to a head. Her blood pressure was so low that she was admitted to the hospital after passing out. Currently, she is extremely weak and unstable and am having to use a walker and/or cane. She cannot be outside in the extreme heat. Although, she tries to work from home, she tires easily. She is forced to see several doctors and undergo further testing which is very expensive and causing tremendous financial burden on her famiy.

unfortunately, this is not her only health challenge, she also has endometriosis, Hashimotos and a Heart Arryhythmia.

Heather is an extremely couragous human being. Despite the ongoing challenges, she is very determined to find ways to manage her symptoms and improve my quality of life.

Monies raised here will go toward Heather's medical bills, outragous deductibles and co-pays and medications needed for her on going care along with any aides recommended by the her doctors such as a walker and cooling blanket.
