Donate to help Ian to get new treatments

Hello, my name is Jordi, and I am the father of Ian Chaves. Ian is nine years old and has been a cancer fighter since he was diagnosed with desmoplastic soft tissue sarcoma in July 2019, when he was only six years old.

It has been a tough road of treatments, surgeries and two relapses to get to the point where we are now.

Right now at the hospital that he is been treated, Great Ormond Street in London, the only thing they can offer us to help Ian is an immunotherapy treatment with Pazopanib and five sessions of conventional radiotherapy.

They don't give us much more hope since they don't have anything else to offer us. I think like any parent would have done, we been looking for alternative treatments that were available for him in private hospitals and could help us. After speaking with many expert oncologists in the field, we have decided that apart from treating Ian with the Pazopanib that Gosh is offering, we are also going to try to help him with injections of high concentrated Vitamin C and instead of giving him conventional radiotherapy sessions they have advised us to give him Protontherapy sessions instead combined with Hyperthermia and Hyperbaric Chamber treatments since Protontherapy is much less aggressive with healthy tissues and with sarcomas such as Ian's, good results have been obtained.

We are going to be doing all that in Madrid, Spain, as we couldn't find anywhere in the UK that would take children for these special treatments. The approximate cost of these alternative treatments, including travel and accommodation expenses, is around 80,000 euros.

Just by sharing this crowdfunding, you would already be helping Ian a lot. We just want him to be able to grow up healthy and fulfil all his dreams. I'm sure with everyone's help, we can make this happen.

Hola, mi nombre es Jordi y soy el papá de Ian Chaves. Ian tiene 9 años y es un luchador oncológico desde que se le diagnosticó un sarcoma desmoplásico de tejidos blandos en julio del 2019 cuando sólo tenía 6 añitos.
Ha sido un camino durísimo de tratamientos, operaciones y dos recaídas hasta llegar al punto donde estamos.
Ahora mismo en el hospital que lo están tratando , el Great Ormond Street de Londres, lo único que pueden ofrecernos para ayudar a Ian es un tratamiento de inmunoterapia con Pazopanib y cinco sesiones de radioterapia convencional. 
No nos dan muchas mas esperanzas ya que no tienen nada mas que ofrecernos. Creo que como cualquier padre hubiera hecho, nos pusimos manos a la obra para buscar tratamientos alternativos que estuvieran disponibles para él en los hospitales privados y pudieran ayudarnos. Después de hablar con muchos oncólogos expertos en la materia, hemos decidido que aparte de tratar a Ian con el Pazopanib que nos ofrecen en Gosh vamos también a intentar ayudarlo con perfusiones de Vitamina C y en lugar de darle sesiones de Radioterapia nos han aconsejado darle sesiones de Protonterapia combinada con sesiones de Hyperthermia y Cámara Hiperbárica, ya que la protonterapia es mucho menos agresiva con los tejidos sanos y ante sarcomas como el de Ian se han obtenido  buenos resultados.
El coste aproximado de estos tratamientos alternativos , incluyendo gastos de viaje y estancia es de unos 80.000 euros. 
Sólo con compartir este crowdfunding ya estaríais ayudando mucho a Ian. Sólo queremos que pueda crecer sano y cumplir todos sus sueños.
