Donate to help Jason Bates beat cancer

Jason and Gigi have both been dealing with an increasing number of challenges since his cancer diagnosis in October of 2020. An initial surgery was successful at removing the tumor from his chest, and regular testing looked promising. Unfortunately, in August of 2022 numerous cancer nodules were discovered in both lungs. Since then, Jason and Gigi have been dealing with an increasingly challenging set of circumstances. There have been some big successes, and some hard set backs.

Things just took a quantum leap in difficulty when Jason had an unexpected seizure. Jason had an unexplainable car accident that alerted his medical team to a significant brain tumor that needed immediate attention. Quite likely that accident saved his life!

He has been recovering well since, but still faces a number of challenges going forward, with his current prognosis including at least a year and a half more treatments. He is fortunate to be working with a great team of doctors right now, and they are confidently working towards full remission eventually, but they have also been upfront that this won’t be an easy road.

To be able to beat this cancer Jason will need to put a sustained amount of physical and emotional effort into fighting it, and Gigi will also need to put a tremendous amount of love and energy into supporting him. This is a fight that will take every ounce of love and strength that Jason and Gigi have, so please help support their efforts to BEAT THIS CANCER! There is no shortage of love between them, but the added stresses are taking up a lot of time and energy that is needed for them to both focus on fighting the cancer together.

They have already been getting increasing levels of support from a number of different friends and family. The difficulties they were facing having magnified, the need for a broader net of support is now becoming urgent. There is a lot of love pushing back against Jason’s cancer, but the real fight is still in the early stages. There are also additional efforts being organized and coordinated to help them in non financial ways too. Stay tuned for more.

The goals of the financial support effort here are to:

1) lower the immediate financial burden that has fallen completely on Gigi

2) give them some resources to support a little more space and time for them to recharge their own physical, mental, and emotional energy levels.

3) to help them stay strong and beat the cancer completely!
