Donate to help Jay Jack and Mandy Buckner

Hello, my name is Kim Barber. Some of you know (or have heard of) me in connection with GRC Dogsports. I am reaching out to you NOT as a representative of GRC but as friend of Jay Jack and Mandy Buckner. And as a friend, I am asking for your help for Jay and Mandy.

Before I explain why I’m reaching out, let me be straight up here. Jay and Mandy did not ask for this GoFund Me to be set up. As I write this, Jay is in the hospital and his condition is listed as “serious, but not life threatening”. Those of you who know Jay also know it would never cross his mind, or Mandy’s, to ask for help. I’m asking for them.

Here is why I am asking. Jay was on his way home from The Academy on Wednesday night, Oct 18, 2023. He was hit head on by another driver — a driver who was most likely intoxicated based on early reports. Jay’s car was totaled. It is amazing that Jay survived. Maddy Roux, his new puppy, did not.

As I write this, Jay has already undergone two surgeries in less than 24 hours. We don’t know how long he will be in the hospital, what additional medical tests, procedures or additional surgeries may be needed. This is as real as it gets. Jay and Mandy have helped literally thousands of people over the years. It would never occur to them to ask for help. But those of us who have been enriched by having them in our lives CAN offer that help. That is the purpose of this fund. All monies raised will go toward medical, rehabilitation, and expenses arising as a result this accident.

Nothing contributed here will replace what was lost on the road and in the car that night. But hopefully, Jay and Mandy will find some solace in the support we can provide as they move forward with grace, grit and gameness.
