Jayde is a long time member of the community who has spent the last 16 years contributing in often large and unseen ways to the resources and knowledge that we all share and benefit from, and now we are asking for the community to assist her in her time of need. Jayde was the lead driver in a project that assisted many vulnerable peers in Australia and internationally during a time of intense change in the industry, contributing her skills and time without any thought to her own gain, and all of us were then, and remain now, in awe of and grateful for her generosity and expertise.

Jayde needs our help

Jayde has spent three years fighting a truly harrowing cancer ordeal, and has had her partner need to leave employment in order to care for her, draining their savings and leaving them struggling to support their family.

In 2021, Jayde went in for a health check right after the traumatic loss of her own mother to cancer, and discovered the worst: she herself was diagnosed with complex stage 3C cervical cancer. The recovery has been a long and painful journey, and during this time, Jayde has been silent about her struggles.

Jayde was emotionally supported by her companion kitty who has been with her every step of the way; from diagnosis through to surgery, extensive radiation and chemotherapy. Kitty recently suffered some serious medical conditions of her own, and as a result, Jayde's beloved soulmate passed away this week, leaving her struggling to cover the associated fees and ongoing costs of living while grieving and unwell.

Finding it very difficult to work due to pain and the effects of the cancer and treatment, Jayde is desperate for financial respite and any and all financial aid will make a huge difference helping her recovery and provide stable and secure housing, pay for groceries, phone bills and contribute to cremation costs.

This GFM is designed to provide Jayde with at least four months respite and offer her time to process the death of her companion animal, contribute to the management of day to day living costs and aid in the financial care of her other companion animals and human family, as well as catch up on the bills which are currently in arrears due to her working situation.
