Help Jerry Padilla Sr. battle brain tumor
Donation protected
On December 12, 2023, my father was diagnosed with a large brain tumor. He had been suffering from debilitating headaches, double vision, and weight loss - but was unable to receive answers from doctors. Finally, after a trip to the emergency room - they performed an MRI and CT scan. We were devastated to find out that he has a substantial mass on the left side of his brain that would require surgery, and eventually a combination of radiation and chemotherapy.
After spending Christmas in the hospital due to severe pain, on December 28, 2023, neurosurgery was performed in an attempt to remove most of the tumor. Unfortunately, due to proximity to the carotid artery and several major nerves around his brain - doctors were unable to remove the tumor due to the high risk of causing further harm. They were only able to obtain a biopsy - we are currently waiting on pathology results from the biopsy. In addition, the tumor suppresses the nerves that allow him to swallow, so now sadly he cannot enjoy his favorite foods or even have a soda. A Gastronomy Tube was surgically placed on January 5, 2024.
Currently, he requires around-the-clock care. I decided to leave my job and care for my dad full-time. Your support during these uncertain times will allow my father to receive the care and support he needs - anything you are able to contribute will help tremendously. We appreciate your support and ask that you continue praying for my dad, the team of physicians caring for him, and my family.
With gratitude,
