Hi all, my name is Tayler andI have created this GoFundMe account to help Jon Cross and the beloved Cross family for unforeseen medical bills. Jon, a loving father and husband suffered from a very severe stroke on May 28. Jon threw a clot from a dissection in his carotid artery that lead to a massive stroke.
Due to the continued swelling in the brain, he then had to have a craniotomy where the doctors had to cut through the skull and remove the parts of the brain that had died from the stroke. After he recovered from the initial brain surgery, doctors found that Jon had blood clots in his legs. He then had to go in for a second procedure to treat the blood clots.
Today, he is stable but is very far from making a full recovery. He has a long road ahead of him and there is a lot of uncertainty about what his future may look like. What we are most grateful for is that he is alive and coherent.
Jon is one of the most loving people I know and the Cross family could really use your support. If you are able, please donate to support Jon and the Cross family during the most difficult time of their lives. thank youeveryone that has helped, thought id give an update on my progress... I'm alive thsnkfully.. made it home for a while while, while we waited for the swelling to go down before my head could be put back together..which they did in september of 2022. returned home again and doctor cleared me to work from home. which i did while doing some physical therapy, which helped me to walk again, although i get to use a cane now;(..while home i researched how i could get better and found clinical trials at the universityof texas. so, we decided to sell our home, pay the bills and move to texas.after checking with my boss we listed the house to sell at the same time we scoured zillow to find a home in texas. after masny agonizing weeks, we found a house and a buyer for the redmond house, however just days prior to moving i was notified that no longer had a regular job. the decision was made to switch me from a regular hourly employee to a contract worker and would be given work when they needed help. unfortunately, they stopped giving me workaftrer calling in looking for work eventually i was told someone had been hirred and i was not needed.so literally days before our big move to Texas I was jobless and no longer had health coverage.
Its been roughly 6 mothssincewe arrived, not sure how my wife has done it but we are here and i was able to get minimuinsurance thru the state thankfully as i had to have emergency gallbladder surgeryjust a few weeks ago.its been quite a "road"and i hope others can learn from my experiences.(you just never know what life has in store for you.
Much Love,
Tayler
