My name is Deb and I am raising money for my daughter, her fiance, and my grandson. My daughter Kristina had been trying to have a baby for a few years, but after having a fallopian tube removed was told that her best option was IVF. With some financial assistance they tried IVF. First round didn't work, but they were pregnant on the second and they were so excited. Her due date was February 12, 2023. After the first trimester they made the announcement.

On September 25th they had a reveal party and found out they were having a little boy AND Leo proposed. Kristina was so excited and happy she cried. They decided to name their son Jaxon Richard Hanson.
Things were progressing well with the pregnancy and the ultrasounds looked good.

She had an ultrasound on October 26th that showed their little boy had a large tumor on his neck that wasn't there six weeks before so it was very fast growing. Birth would be a C section at the University of Minnesota when her due date was closer. The doctors were very concerned about Jaxon because of the location of the tumor. It was compressing his airway and the were worried about getting an airway after he was born. They would have minutes after the cord was cut.

Well, baby Jaxon had other plans her water broke on October 30th at 24 weeks. She was to be hospitalized until Jaxon wes born. On November 12th baby Jaxon decided it was time to meet mom and dad he was born at 5:53 am with a team of doctors taking care of him and one for mom. Jaxon weighed 2 lbs 12 oz and was 13.5 inches long. They were quickly able to get an airway which was a relief. Little Jaxon was beautiful despite having the tumor that went from his chin to his chest. A doctor told them the next day that she was pretty sure the tumor was something called KHE and they would likely be able to reduce the size with medication. It was later confirmed by an MRI. Since starting the medication, Jaxon's neck circumference went from 19 cm to 16 cm and you can actually see his neck at 2 weeks old. As you can imagine little Jaxon has a long road ahead and will be hospitalized for a while. This fundraiser is to help with medical bills (they do have insurance that pays 80% after the deductible), gas (Daddy has to work so in order to see little Jaxon and Mommy he has to commute from Webster, WI to Minneapolis, MN) and to assist with paying bills while Kristina is off work.

We appreciate anything you can do to help.
