Donate to help Luka Stojanovic with Medical Bills

On May 13, 2022, Luka’s life took an unexpected turn. After arriving home that night, something sounded wrong with his car, so naturally, he went around to the front right side of the car to check for a problem. When he stood up, a young man was sitting in his car.

 

Unfortunately, this young man had a gun and began to run away, but shot Luka in the hip as he fled. As the bullet went into his body, the femoral artery - the main artery going away from the heart - was hit. With the adrenaline kicking in from this life-threatening injury, Luka was able to get inside to grab a towel and call the police as his leg continued to bleed.

 

Luckily, a police officer was nearby, found Luka within minutes, and was able to perform life-saving medical actions. Later, the doctor said that four more minutes of bleeding out and Luka would not have made it.

 

Because of this injury, Luka has had multiple surgeries and blood transfusions. He stayed in the hospital for two weeks and rehab for another week. And even though he's been released to go back to his apartment, he continues to do rehab multiple times a week in an effort to get back to full strength and function.

 

Along with the heavy emotional and physical toll from this very challenging time in Luka’s life, the medical bills have been a challenge, too.

My name is Michelle and I am Luka's girlfriend. Throughout this time, I have been through every step with him, witnessing the challenges, but also the good in all of the people that have helped us. The funds raised will go directly to Luka's bank account so that he can pay the bills.
