Help Luke and Joan after a devastating house fire

My name is Ollie and I'm raising funds to help my partner Luke and his Mum Joan following a devastating house fire in Howrah, Hobart on 20th May 2024. They were lucky to escape unhurt, but sadly the much-loved family home of 27 years has been destroyed along with their belongings.

Luke went back to the home today (22nd May) to board up the windows and see if there was anything they could salvage. He shared some photos which show the extent of the damage, we are all just so thankful that they were awake at the time and able to escape unharmed.

The family have since discovered that the home was not insured and so they are now faced with the cost of making the site safe, demolishing the existing building and finding somewhere for Joan to live.

Your donation will help them to pay for essential items, food, clothing and accommodation. Hopefully, we will also raise enough funds to help with the cost of clearing the site.

Joan has dedicated much of her 86 years to helping people in the local community and now she, Luke and the family need a little help from the community to get through.
