Hello, my name is Flora. I am asking for your help for Maggie, my sister.
Maggie was in a motorcycle accident.
The accident was on the afternoon of September 1st. The crash report will tell you that the 89 year old driver was in the turning lane, and Maggie was riding her motorcycle, wearing a DOT compliant helmet, at a safe speed in the outside lane of oncoming traffic. The driver pulled out, across several lanes, giving Maggie no time to evade. Maggie’s bike was totaled and she was helicoptered to the hospital for emergency surgery.
All the professionals agree that she has a long road to recovery. Anything you contribute goes a long way.
Maggie is a kind and peaceful soul with a genuine interest in helping others and working hard to make her way in this world. She leads her life with a smile and sunny disposition, even in the face of adversity. You can always count on Maggie being there for a friend in need.
She loved her motorcycle and it's a shame this accident has taken it away from her, but it hasn't taken everything.
Her injuries were extensive, and she relied heavily on the amazing team at the hospital to get her stable again. She spent over 2 weeks in the ICU and over 4 months at Tampa General Hospital.
Her recovery has been slow but steady. We like to think it is her genuine kindness and sunny disposition that helps the healing.
I don’t know if Maggie would ask for help (even if she could), but I know she needs it so I am asking for her. Will you help my sister, Maggie, as she works her way back from this tragedy?
