Update!! July 15, 2024
We are thrilled to share some fantastic news! Malachi has received OSAP funding, which has significantly closed the gap on his financial needs for attending Hilbert College. This brings us one step closer to making his dream a reality. We now need just $10,000 CAD to fully cover his expenses.
Malachi is incredibly excited about the opportunity to study Forensic Science at Hilbert College and to play NCAA basketball. This program is a perfect fit for his academic and athletic aspirations, and he can't wait to get started.
Your generous support has brought us this far, and we are so grateful for your help. We are now in the final stretch, and every contribution, no matter the size, brings Malachi closer to achieving his dreams.
Thank you for being part of this incredible journey and for believing in Malachi's potential. Let's make this happen together!

Hi! I'm Tamsen, and the very proud aunt of Malachi Hartley.

Today, I am reaching out to you with a heartfelt request to support my nephew's dream of attending Hilbert College to study Forensic Science and continue his impressive basketball career.

At 16 years old, Malachi earned a scholarship to attend the prestigious private school, The Kiski School, in Saltsburg, PA. A resident of Ajax, Ontario, this was a huge accomplishment to be invited to study and play basketball in the U.S. He was recruited for his academic and basketball talents. Malachi is set to graduate from Kiski this May, with Honors and a 93.3% average. Recently, he was admitted to the Honors Program at Hilbert College.

Malachi has overcome multiple learning disabilities, including dyslexia, and has worked extremely hard to achieve his academic goals. This determination and resilience also extends to the basketball court where he has achieved many accolades and his talent recognized by many.
He has achieved the 2024 Kiski Basketball Defensive MVP, 2023 Canada Hoops Tournament MVP, LOSSA Gold Medalist Jr Boys Basketball, National Jr Prep Circuit Silver Medalist, and 2 time MVP Northern Kings Basketball.

Even with the scholarships he has received, he is still facing a significant financial gap in covering the costs of his education at Hilbert College. Malachi was awarded $27,000 USD in academic scholarships including the Honors Program. To attend, the cost is $53,000 USD/year. This is why I am turning to you, our community, for help. Our goal is to raise the funds needed to cover the remainder of tuition, fees, and other necessary expenses to ensure that Malachi can pursue his academic and athletic goals.

Beyond his academic and athletic commitments, Malachi has also been deeply involved in the community. He has volunteered at the Westmoreland Food Bank, assists at the Little Dribbler Basketball Camp, and participates in the Kiski School community clean-ups.

Malachi is a great kid, who understands the drive and dedication required to continue to move ahead. He would be forever grateful to be granted this opportunity. It is with great gratitude, I thank you for taking the time to read about Malachi, and I'm sure his story has left an impression on you, as he does with everyone he touches. I would love to watch Malachi achieve his dreams, he truly deserves it.
