Hello, family and friends of Meghan!
On November 10th Meghan had an eye appointment due to some blurry vision she was having. By that evening, she was in the ICU due to extremely high blood pressure. Her creatinine level was high, so they did an ultrasound of her kidney and, eventually, a kidney biopsy.
A few days later, the biopsy revealed Meghan had Immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN). IgAN is an autoimmune disease that affects kidney function. Right now, Meghan’s kidneys are working at 20%, which places her at a stage 5 diagnosis requiring a kidney transplant. The length of time it takes to make arrangements with the transplant team in Iowa City will determine if she must begin dialysis. Until final details are solidified on Meghan's transplant, Carrie and Mark continue to balance work with the need to also be at home to help Meghan manage the highs and lows of her blood pressure.
While we are unsure what the total cost of Meghan's treatment will be, we have created this fundraiser to financially bless the Wills family in helping with the incoming medical bills from Meghan's time in the hospital, ongoing medical needs, and the upcoming transplant. Whether or not you can give financially at this time, we would greatly appreciate prayer warriors who are willing to pray without ceasing for this incredibly faithful young lady. We continue to pray for a miracle and thank you in advance for all prayers and financial support.
God Bless
