Hi! I'm Kelli and Michael is my fiance. He recently suffered a life-threatening infection and septic shock stemming from his most recent spinal surgery. He was in the ICU on full life support for 12 days in April, then spent another week and a half in an inpatient, acute rehab facility. While he is home now, this is just the beginning of a long road to recovery. He experienced respiratory, liver, and kidney failure while in the hospital, and is receiving outpatient dialysis three times a week for the foreseeable future. Due to the medications they had to give him to save his life, he has suffered severe damage to his toes on both feet, and may lose some of them. He has been unable to work for several months before his latest surgery, and we don't expect him to be able to return to any kind of work for at least 8-12 months.

I never thought I would be asking for this kind of assistance, but we could use some help in order to survive on my income alone, until he is able to return to some kind of work. We have exhausted our savings and, while we have medical insurance to help cover the costs of his treatment, we are beginning to struggle with the mortgage, utilities, etc. We appreciate all of you more than you can ever know - thank you.
