Jenny & Mike Duda met in high school marching band in 2007 and have been inseparable ever since. They’ve been married for 8 of their 15 years together. They live in a suburb of Orlando, FL and have 3 perfect cats – Iris, Olive, and Pearl. Mike is a newly sworn-in State of FL Probation Officer, and Jenny recently got a new job in Revenue Management at a large resort in Orlando. They spend their free time watching Marvel movies/shows, going home décor shopping, going to arcades, doing house projects, and laughing together.

Mike & Jenny’s journey of trying to start a family started 6 years ago in 2016, which ended in a traumatizing miscarriage. They then experienced 2 more equally painful miscarriages the following 2 years, in 2017 & 2018, and decided in early 2019 to get fertility testing done to try to determine why they could not keep a pregnancy. Jenny and Mike went to a renowned Fertility Specialist in Orlando, FL that Jenny’s OBGYN suggested. This doctor and her team ran every possible test under the sun on Jenny & Mike and still could not determine why the pregnancies only lasted until the mid-1st trimester. They were reassured that Jenny’s Type 1 Diabetes was not the cause, although it makes it more challenging to be pregnant, but it was not the reason they miscarried since Jenny’s diabetes was under control for all 3 pregnancies. They also performed genetic testing and found something with Mike’s chromosomes, but it ended up being benign. After going through all the results with the specialist, the only other option offered was IVF, but the doctor could not guarantee that an IVF pregnancy would end any differently than the natural ones did. After all the physical and emotional trauma they’d been through losing 3 babies, Mike and Jenny decided that they were not going to put themselves through that experience again, and they decided to stop trying naturally to have a baby.

From 2019-2022, Mike & Jenny went through a period of healing and started their mental health journeys. They each started working with individual therapists to better themselves & also couples therapists to strengthen their marriage. During this time, they realized that adoption was the path that life was taking them on in order to have a family. They started to realize that they might have a bigger purpose in life to fulfill. Jenny and Mike began researching different types of adoption and the costs involved and realized that it was much more expensive than they’d imagined. They found out that a typical domestic infant adoption costs anywhere between $40,000 - $80,000, including legal fees, family advertising fees, and costs for the birth mother’s medical expenses.

By donating to help Jenny & Mike adopt, you will forever be a part of their child’s story. They say it truly takes a village to raise a child; you are their village. Please consider donating to help Mike and Jenny be able to adopt and fulfill their dreams of becoming parents.
