Rosa Ema has many names; everyone who has met her has a unique story on how she has impacted their life in a grand or simple way. She has saved so many people in her community from themselves, other people trying to harm them, and always reminded her community of our bigger purpose in life to keep going no matter how hard it gets. She is well known as being a head indigenous chef, the tribe medicine woman, as a healer, as the community therapist, but most importantly as our home. Rosa Ema always provided a space for anyone to learn, share, and create something greater for themselves. in the way her elders taught her.

Her life journey always led her back to her family and indigenous community. She continues to inspire so many around her even in the midst of all her ups and downs, cancer treatments, surgerys, since being diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in 2013, she always put others first before herself. The countless prayers, days and nights of ceremony, no matter how tired and in pain she was, she needed to be there for her community. She continously gave her life to help others and stayed deeply connected to our tunkashilas, creator, greater spirit, mother earth, and all 4 elements of prayer.

We want to do everything in our power to honor her request of

seeking alternative treatments as she so courageously fights this cancer. We want to ensure that we can provide her with comfort, love, and healing. This funding will help provide the resources we need to give her that care and to access those alternative treatments, so that she has a chance at life and to fulfill her last wishes.
